Yes we have killed millions of tweets!
Even if it looks like an installation for a museum of modern art, this was a part of a Vodafone campaign named ALT TV. The idea was that an imaginary competitor hatet Vodafone so much that he printed out every tweet that mentioned the companies name or a product and shredded it. In belive to vanish it from the face of earth. So we wrote a software that searched Twitter for certain tags. Then we developed the installation – once again of course in our conference room – and killed as much tweets as possible. Of course users could tweet their own stuff and watch it getting shred. After a while the sound of the printer and the shredder nearly drove us insane. But anyways, we had a lot of fun with this project.
